Member Complaints
Driscoll Children's Health Plan wants all of its members to be happy with its services. You may complain if you are not satisfied with the services or care you receive. You can file a complaint by calling or writing. If you need help filing a complaint, let us know. Call us at 1-877-DCHP KIDS and we can help you file a complaint.

Within five business days of receiving your complaint, someone will send you a letter. It will confirm the day we received your complaint. We will review the facts and take action within 30 days of receiving your complaint. A resolution letter will be sent to you.
You have the right to appeal the decision if you are not satisfied with the resolution of your complaint.Fraud and Abuse
Driscoll Children's Health Plan has implemented a Waste, Abuse, and Fraud program as required by law. If you suspect that a person who receives benefits or a provider (a doctor, dentist, counselor, etc.) has committed waste, abuse or fraud, you have a responsibility and a right to report.
When reporting a provider (a doctor, dentist, counselor, etc.) try to include:
- Name, address, and phone number of provider
- Name and address of the facility (hospital, nursing home, home health agency, etc.)
- Medicaid number of the provider and facility, if you have it
- Type of provider (doctor, dentist, therapist, pharmacist, etc.)
- Names and the phone numbers of other witnesses who can help in the investigation
- Dates of events
- Summary of what happened
When reporting a person who receives benefits, try to include:
- The person's name
- The person's date of birth, Social Security Number, or case number if you have it
- The city where the person lives
- Specific details about the waste, abuse or fraud

Online: If you can get on the Internet, go to www.hhsc.state.tx.us and select the "Reporting Waste, Abuse and Fraud" tab on the left side of the screen. The site tells you about the types of waste, abuse and fraud to report. If you cannot get on the Internet and you would rather talk to a person, call the HHSC Office of Inspector General Fraud Hotline at 1-800-436-6184.
