About Driscoll Children's Health Plan |
CHIP provides low-cost insurance for children whose
parents earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but cannot afford
other health insurance. Children are covered from birth through
age 18.
Driscoll Children's Health Plan is a licensed HMO
in Texas. We help provide healthcare services to children in the
Coastal Bend region. We offer the Childrens Health Insurance Program
(CHIP). Our goal is to provide quality care for our members.
There are many doctors
in our group. Our doctors provide services to children through the
age of 18 in the following counties:

What Does It Cost?
For as little as the cost of your family going to see one movie
per month, you and your children can have health insurance through
Driscoll Children’s Health Plan.

Do I Qualify?
Qualifying for CHIP is very simple, and the highly-trained staff
at Driscoll Children’s Health Plan can help.
Children may be eligible for CHIP
if:
- Live in the State of Texas
- Children are under age 18
- Are a United States citizen or a documented immigrant
- Have no other health insurance
- Live in a family which does not qualify for state employee
insurance
- Family of 4 earning up to $40K per year
How Do I Apply?
Pick up an application form available at area hospitals
including Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s Admitting Office
and Emergency Department or a planned enrollment fair, or call Driscoll
Children’s Health Plan for a packet. Signing up for CHIP is
quick, simple, and inexpensive.
You will need to gather:
- Proof or verification of income (check stub or other income
verification)
- Proof of you and your child’s Social Security Number
- Proof of you and your child’s residency status or immigration
status
